The first "Computer Bug" was a real insect! In 1947, Grace Hopper and her team were working on the Mark II computer at Harvard when it malfunctioned. They opened the hardware and found a moth trapped in a relay. They taped the dead moth into the logbook with the note: "First actual case of bug being found."
