François Legault spent a lifetime climbing the rungs of Quebec’s corporate and political ladders before stepping down from a position that had become increasingly lonely — key members of his cabinet abandoning ship and his once staggering popularity plummeting.

Alan described itself as bringing a preventative approach to health and positioning insurance as part of broader employee wellbeing and productivity strategies. The Quebec launch, the company said, builds on its status as a licensed insurer in Canada and extends its model into a highly regulated provincial environment.

Public school district data obtained by CBC News shows the rate of school absenteeism has grown across the country in elementary and secondary schools over the last few years. And Quebec is no different.

One day after Quebec Premier François Legault said he would resign ahead of the October election, at least one high-profile minister has come out publicly to say she is considering a bid to replace him.

Despite unanimous objection from Quebec’s National Assembly and a government willing to take the matter to the Supreme Court, Quebec’s electoral boundaries commission says it will go ahead with a redrawn electoral map that eliminates a riding in the Gaspé Peninsula and another in Montreal to reflect shifting demographics.

The rate of school absenteeism has grown over the last few years, according to public school district data obtained by CBC News. Some kids are now relying on organizations after missing months, even years of school.

The bill before the province’s national assembly would restrict universities’ ability to challenge legislation, but its future is in doubt with the resignation of Premier Franҫois Legault.
