The New Jersey Devils were looking for a little nostalgia when they made John MacLean the fourth member of the team’s Ring of Honor in a pregame ceremony Tuesday night at Prudential Center. What they got instead was deja vu.
The Devils have finally traded Ondrej Palat. Hours after NJ Advance Media reported that the veteran forward was planning to be scratched for “roster-related reasons,” he was dealt to the New York Islanders — along with a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick — for forward Maxim Tsyplakov.
A reminder of championships and better days, the Devils made John MacLean the fourth member of their Ring of Honor.
