A new U.S. Postal Service rule on how your mail is handled could affect your ballot, taxes and other time-sensitive deliveries.

Political candidates have legal standing to sue states that count mail-in ballots received after election day, the Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.

"Candidates, in short, are not ‘mere bystanders’ in their own elections," Chief Justice John Roberts said, writing for the majority.
